Knicks sign Chris Smith, younger brother of J.R.

The Knicks are a team that likes to stick to its roots. The last few years they have given Patrick Ewing Jr., son of former Knick great, well, Patrick Ewing obviously. Now they will let the brother of J.R. Smith get a chance to make the team. Chris Smith spent the last five years in college, spending two years at Manhattan and then two at Louisville. The younger brothers agent expects Smith to get a fair shot at joining his brother.

 

“We are very excited about him joining the Knicks and look forward to him getting a real opportunity to contribute,” agent Marc Cornstein told ESPNNewYork ”He’s now going to have to work extremely hard and establish himself as part of this veteran team.”
