Dominik Hasek is still looking for an NHL contract

The Hasek Flop that is as throw back of a term as this guys possible return.  This is the equivalent of Bobby Nystrom looking to come out of retirement with whatever flow he has left from back in his day and put a couple in the back of the net.  The 47 year old is serious about his return and began on-ice training with HC Pardubice, the hometown club where he began his career as a 15-year-old in 1980 and later returned to in 2009-10 to lead them to a Czech league title.




The HC Pardubice commented abotu Hasek’s return by stating:


“We are honored that Dominik Hasek used the offer to train together with our A team. Prepare him for the best possible conditions that could best prepare for the new season,” said general manager of Championship club Ondrej Sebek in the press release.

“We start up to meet him. Dominik, of course, can use all the facilities and cabins team has a full service, but his training regime to control myself,” Sebek said.



Hasek has reached out to the Buffalo Sabres who have decided to move on without him and it looks like for right now a lot of other teams are following in their foot steps.  Are Hasek’s days numbered or will he be brought in to a training camp show up some young guns and land himself a one-year deal?


Only time will tell if he still has what it takes to compete at the NHL level night after night and if an NHL team will even sign him.  We will keep you posted as we are following this story closely.
