If you don’t want to go traditional

If you’re a soon-to-be bride like me, and you’re not into the traditional veil, there are options for you out there.  Check out some of these fashion forward ideas.

Try a bulky head band.  It can be made up of rhinestones, feathers, beautifully embellished materials. Great way to substitue a veil, but still feel like there is something special in your hair.

Fascinators are always fun.  Again you can go with all kinds of materials including flowers (real or fake), ribbons, bows, feathers, rhinestones…etc. Play around with some of them and see what works with your hairstyle.

I know what you’re thinking…”Jill, that’s a veil”  I know, I know…but it’s so different than the usual veils we are used to seeing so I had to post it.  Basically it just lays over your head.  Obviously this would only be worn for ceremony purposes.  It’s super modern though, wouldn’t you say?

My personal favorite (and what I will be using for my very own wedding day) is the bird cage veil.  There are so many different variations of this.  Short, long, ones that cover your full face, ones that just cover the top of your head.  You can wear them plain or add fascinators and embellishments to them. They are super fun and super sexy too!  They have an old vintage feel with a modern twist. I just love them! lol

Hats are also a fun way to replace a veil.  You can do it without the birdcage if you want. These are very 1920′s to me.

Remember, whichever you decide to do, it must go with your dress and your hair style!  Have fun!!
